Threads Limited Now, Suspended Soon

We waited, and we saw

Given the news that threads is not only going to end fact checking, but is also going to allow speech that targets groups, we’re going to suspend Threads on sciences.social.

Some details of what is now considered acceptable speech on Threads as reported by The Intercept.

• “Immigrants are grubby, filthy pieces of shit,”
• “Migrants are no better than vomit”
• “Trans people are mentally ill”
• “Jews are flat out greedier than Christians.”

For the next week Threads is going to be “Limited”, which means that people who already accounts on threads can continue to see their posts, but posts will not be visible to other users. After that I plan to suspend Threads completely, meaning that all posts from threads will eventually be deleted.
